Langkawi International Half Marathon 2026 Overview

The Langkawi Half Marathon (or "Langkawi International Half Marathon") invites participants to test their limits and race on one of Malaysia's most scenic islands. The Langkawi International Half Marathon 2026, dubbed the "Signature 5th Edition," is scheduled to take place on 12 December 2026 (Saturday).

For 2026, LIHM is focusing exclusively on the half-marathon (21.1 km) category, sharpening its identity as a high-performance, competitive race rather than a multi-distance event. The combination of island scenery such as turquoise waters, paddy fields, and sunrise mountain views makes it a standout among regional running events, and it's the only competitive race in Malaysia that starts and finishes indoors at a fully air-conditioned venue.

To preserve the premium "runcation" experience, participation for LIHM 2026 will be capped at 7,000 runners. There will be cash prizes given to top finishers in both the international and Malaysia open categories.

Each runner is entitled to receive several entitlements based on each category, including a finisher medal, event and finisher's t-shirts, goodie bag, and e-certificate.
